It is an ailment that you have to fight against every minute of your life. It would, however, be wrong to say that there is no medicine to get rid of it. There are plenty of them and they have several side-effects that you would like to avoid. So people are turning towards meditation to get mental and physical relaxation. Meditation connects the body with soul and brings refreshment.
Those who are associated with meditation techniques are aware of the benefits of the exercises in creating mental balance and focus. But for a beginner it is very difficult to be accustomed with the different meditation techniques. The meditation for beginners can be made easier if they follow the given three techniques.

Concentrate on an object

Here you have to concentrate on one object. It can be anything that can hold your attention for a long period of time. After you have stared at it for a considerable time, close your eyes. Try and recreate the image in your mind. Try not to think about anything else.


Try the Sitting Method

If you are meditating for the first time, then you might want to do it in a quiet place. Even though music is said to be an aid to meditation, it might be a distraction for the beginners. Keep sitting in one position for consecutive 20 minutes. This will help you to calm your body. This will make your move to the next stage of meditation easier, namely calming the mind. If sitting in a single position is not an option for you because of cramps and numbness, then you might alternate between sitting and standing. As long as you are able to concentrate your mind, it is fine.


Reclining could be another option

This is an alternate method for those who have a problem in sitting in a single posture for a long time.  This reclining posture is very advantageous especially because it boosts the supply of blood to the legs and thus relieves cramps and numbness. Lie on a reclining chair comfortably and close your eyes. Try to empty your mind.


If none of these techniques help then you might consider joining a meditation class or a group to learn how to meditate for beginners. They will help you move towards a better awareness of yourself.
